NORFOLK, Va. – Harbor’s Edge announced Friday that it has
crossed the 100 reservations threshold for its proposed expansion. When
completed in 2020, the new River Tower at Harbor’s Edge will add 135 luxury
residences, all with breathtaking views of the downtown skyline and Elizabeth River.
Harbor’s Edge, adjacent to Norfolk Sentara General, the region’s main trauma hospital
with its Heart Pavilion is Norfolk’s only Life Plan Retirement Community. Like the
existing Harbor’s Edge 17-story tower, the River Tower will offer residential living,
assisted living, memory support and skilled nursing as part of its Life Care program.
Luxury residences will have first-class amenities including four dining venues with chefprepared
meals, a heated pool, world-class spa and salon, a fitness center with
personal training, wellness programs, transportation to the region’s cultural events and
sporting venues, 24-hour security, as well as total maintenance and weekly
More than 95,000 sq. ft. of additional common space is being added, which will feature
a ballroom and movie theater. The existing parking garage will be increased to allow for
the additional residents and guests.
The River Tower at Harbor’s Edge will feature open floor plans with floor-to-ceiling
glass, beautifully appointed kitchens and baths, in addition to superior soundproofing
and individually controlled heating and cooling systems.
