Harbor’s Edge Names New Chief Operating Officer - Harbor's Edge Norfolk

Norfolk, Va. – Harbor’s Edge senior living community announced Hampton Roads native Steve Minter as its new chief operating officer. Minter, a 30-year veteran in the senior industry, will oversee all internal operations, including resident and community life.

“I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to serve right here in my local community by ensuring excellence in all aspects of what we do here at Harbor’s Edge,” said Minter, who began his role at the beginning of February.

Minter joined Harbor’s Edge after two years with Seniorcorp, where he was general manager. Previously, he was with Sentara Healthcare for 18 years, where he was the director of operations in the senior services division. In that role, he oversaw the daily performance of seven senior living communities, offering programs that included skilled nursing, assisted living and adult day care.

“I’m passionate about serving older adults,” said Minter, whose credentials include holding licenses for both a Nursing Home Administrator as well as a Preceptor in the State of Virginia. He’s also a Certified Senior Advisor. “I’m always searching for a new model to better serve seniors and their needs.”

Minter has served on several senior industry related boards and committees, including serving as chairman of the board for the Department of Medical Assistance Services in Virginia. He’s also been a board member for Shell Point Retirement Community Florida’s largest continuing care retirement community with over 2,000 residents. Local board memberships include Lefcoe Leaders, a civic leader development program in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Minter holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from East Carolina University and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Central Michigan University.
