Harbor’s Edge announced this week that the rehabilitation gym in its skilled nursing facility has tripled in size.
To showcase the new $500,000 expansion, hosted a grand unveiling party on September 24 for social workers, discharge planners, and physicians alike to see the new space and to inform patients seeking short-term skilled nursing.
As a result of the expansion, the gym increased square footage from about 940-square-feet to almost 2,700-square-feet. The facility also includes all new state-of-the-art fitness equipment; bigger windows to allow more natural light; special effects skylight; and occupational areas complete with full kitchen, laundry and bath to simulate the home environment.
The expanded gym will allow physical, speech and occupational therapies to all be done in the same space. Additionally, now with the larger gym, multiple one-on-one therapy sessions can be held simultaneously.
The Grand Unveiling Event had live entertainment, a raffle for a Kindle Fire HD, and gourmet food. Parting gifts included a bottle wine of your choosing, phone chargers, and delicious macarons from Hummingbird Macarons in Norfolk.
